Not actually last month, but pretty close at this point.

I never publically released the my previous Ghost update delivered internally to Red Hat at the beginning of the month because I hadn't finished some of the diagrams I wanted to do for the last section on chirp coding. Well, the diagrams are done! Here's the latest Ghost demo update, just in time for the next one to almost be due!

Chirplet transform

Purely for the record: You could mention at least once, that there is some time something like Chirplet transform (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chirplet_transform). Never mind. Maybe next time. Even so, quite interesting reading.

How you tell the story depends a bit on the direction you're coming from. Chirplets are a special case of (and recoining of the terminology from) Gabor atoms as seen through the lens of wavelet math.

Anyway, mentioning chirplets would be something of a red herring in the narrative. We're not using that formulation, and our purpose is closer to Gabor's. Chirplets are certainly related, but if we're travelling from point A to point B, they're point C on a parallel highway. The demo pages are already getting wicked huge, I must resist them becoming generalized DSP primers :-)

tl;dr: You have a point. But I didn't go into them for reasons of keeping on topic.
